Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are often removed when there is not enough room for them to erupt in a healthy position.  Optimal removal time is determined by the development of the tooth roots, but usually between the ages of 16 - 21 years.  Early removal eliminates some of the potential complications associated with mature tooth removal.  In addition, younger patients tend to recover quickly.  A panoramic x-ray, like the one shown below, provides us the best view of the wisdom teeth.

We offer a variety of sedation options to consider when having wisdom teeth removed.  We will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
